Of Jason Wooed and a Blossomed Burner
Hot on the heels of this thing we call spring, Nero's been drawn to all matter of posies, particularly those made of or adorned in metal. First came the purchase of a vintage southern pastiche -- not quite a steel magnolia but crafted instead in brass. Possibly used as an ashtray in a former life, the petals can be pulled off for emptying and polishing. Next, while in New Orleans, Nero popped into Perch and simply had to pluck Jason Wu's first hot wax collaboration with Laura Slatkin of Nest candles. "Orchid Rain" comes fittingly contained in a runway-worthy bisque vessel with a gold-plated topper bearing the hip young designer's griffe. The freshly-minted scent, concocted by lauded perfumer Christophe Laudamiel, contains a melange of Asian pear, white orchid, goji berry, pink pepper, coconut and blonde birchwood. Much like Wu's fashions, the scent is crisp, restrained, streamlined and very unisex. Perfect for gifting, but even better for receiving, Nero's of the opinion that this is one spring staple no haute household should be without.

Pretty container, but I prefer my scents more tuberose/jasmine/old lady roses blowsy.
Oh, and neroli. ;)
Dearest Nero, can I go shopping with you? : ))) I like those petals and those covers look inviting to the pages below! : ) That candle goes to my wish list right now, I love scented candles especially when they are in such elegance : ) And thank you, I am flattered ;-)
