Of Beachy Keen on Alys
Generally, the mention of beachside rentals brings on a case of tremors akin to scurvy for Nero. That said, Nero has yet to encounter a Dutch Colonial she could resist, and such an architectural type, blended with the suggestion of southern Spain and a sprinkling of the Mauresque, all flanking sand and surf, renders a multicultural marriage that has Nero's warmest blessing. Indeed ever since the South Walton County, Florida, development Alys Beach breezed onto the blogosphere a few summers back, Nero has harbored if not a honeymoon fantasy than a deep desire to delve into a little spice trade. With homes available for sale and for vacation rental, this cleverly engineered hamlet could prove the perfect backdrop for a family reunion or a watery getaway with friends. So if any of you fair readers make it there before my vessel moors, do leave word that Nero would like a beach view, fish and curry on the grill, and to have the sheets aired. Oh, and just one more thing, lest I failed to mention it before, I bow to Bermuda blinds.

Heavenly.
(and those plants on the wall remind me of antlers! A new take on them, perhaps?)
xo
p.s. speaking of sand and sun, how is the pad in Cairo coming along???
Hi there Anita,
Aren't the air plants grand?
Alas, though I'd love to be able to report back with a slew of eye candy and exotica from over Cairo way, we have yet to return and regroup since our summer trip last year.
Much has shifted since then and so we have yet to slate a travel date.
But rest assured, the sand pad is sitting tightly sealed and can scarcely wait for an update.
Cheers, Alcira

Kecia
Hi there Kecia,
Thanks for the honor ;)
Cheers, Alcira
All those wonderful spaces to sit and dream a while, especially the open verandas and terraces - love this selection, Alcira.
Bonsoir Chere Deb,
It's gorgeous isn't it?
And somehow, underneath it all, distinctly American.
Hope spring is treating you well in France.
Cheers, Alcira
