To 2012 -- Before and Beyond

The year has closed, a new one has begun.

Out with the old, say we, and look towards what's to come.

2011 concluded on a note of cheer,

With a birthday, just-so presents from my bro,
and the wedding of a most beloved friend.

So kicks off Nero's new year,

and so another ends.

In a telepathy born of fraternal alchemy,
my brother always knows what sort of offerings float Nero's boat.
This time 'round, my very own gray fox crâne came to stay,
care of Paxton Gate in the San Francisco Bay.

Our offspring by his uncle was similarly outfitted in snuggly simian,
which was of course, hand-knitted.

In passing Nero turned the big three-three and so in revelry,
we sparked an urn of -- yup, you got it -- cotton candy.

But when my dearest went from la fiancée to
la sposata, I knew the year had found its crown.

So here's to sweets

and courthouse chic

And lace galore -- because we like it, see?

For life is trimmings -- and ties that bind.
And things that last and things we leave behind.
And things we love and things we see.
And living fully, most importantly.

Chic indeed -- the dress and fascinator are both from BHLDN, a very stylish new outpost for outfitting the betrothed.
The powder pink and chocolate patent kitten slingbacks come care of Miu Miu, as is only fitting for an I-talian gal ;)
