Of Rara Avis and Foul Fowl

It is interesting, fair readers, the speed with which ordinary objects -- newly-minted characters -- ascend and join the ranks of everyday iconography. Case in point, Angry Birds -- the loud, the squawking, the foulest of fowl, all beady eyes and pointy beaks and fluster. Will they be this generation's smiley face? As recognizable and loaded as the peace sign was to our parents? As touching as an arrow-crossed heart carved into a trunk? Probably not. And yet it's only fair, methinks, to be inclusive. Eliminate the pecking order, invite them over and let them sit awhile. Perhaps in so doing they'll take the time to chew some seed, prune their feathers, calm their nerves and maybe, just maybe, they'll go home a little less angry.

Alcira, give that boy a hug from me that's fantastic! And how well does it echo the gaze of the bust and that painting? A perfect triptych.

The kid has talent and I like that scarlet triangle :) my not yet 3 years old son just discovered the angry birds game on my ipad ( my husband put it there, I dont play ), it is a challange to limit his ipad time everyday, these kids are so quick to learn.

That is genius and I agree, talent. Mine has already started to cover the fridge.

Cheers Tabitha, Aylin and Bri,

I found the experience to be a bit like public speed-dating -- we handed over some cash, they whipped out a canvas and the wee one slapped on the paint and that was that!
Indeed, there's no way to shield the young from this wild, wild world!
May as well embrace it, feathers and all, right?
Cheers, Alcira
