Alcira, that is a genius headline and featurette for Bloody Sunday!
Hubs writes historical non fiction, his 4th book is due to be published in March/April. He also works full time, so when he writes I become a book widow, luckily I'm quite good at entertaining myself.
Killer klismos chair in pic 1
Do you know the name of the chairs in the last pic? I'm in lust.
Gorgeous picks Alcira!!! I love every single detail from those rooms... I love the neutral palette, creams, blacks, browns... and grays! Love the second room from up to down. Do you remember what edition that picture comes from?
Xoxo,
Renata
Clubby Sunday to you Fab Tab ;P
Very interested in investigating your hubby's books.
It sounds like between you -- his muse -- his work and his craft, he has his hands quite full!
Luckily, you are not only good at entertaining yourself but also all of us as well!
cheers, Alcira
Morning MLHP,
The armchairs are by Franco Albini from Eccola:
www.eccolaimports.com
Hope that helps quell your cravings ;)
Alcira
Hello there Renata,
These images are from the latest Elle Decor showhouse, which I believe is featured in the current issue, just out.
Here are the links on the ED site:
http://www.elledecor.com/image/tid/6141?designer=&thumbs=1&page=15
Cheers, Alcira
The chandelier in the fourth picture seems like something out of a H.R Giger macabre fantasy. It gives me the creeps.
Tweet-tweet Sparrow.
Yes, it is rather troubling, isn't it? -- overtly menacing really, especially as it's hung in such a low-ceiling basement room.
And yet, why not confront some of our fears on this clubby Sunday?
Cheers, Alcira
That is a very chic stool with hoofed legs in the third picture. I also like the brass klismos chair in the first picture, but I would manipulate the finish to weathered bronze.
Welcome Devoted Classicist,
The hoofed stool is intriguing, I'll admit -- though rather anatomically impossible for the horse ;)
I can certainly imagine the klismos up top in a darker patina, that said, I've rarely encountered a klismos I would kick out of bed.
Cheers and do pop back in soon, Alcira
You are serving up the fabulous interiors like nobody's business my lady- loved this.
Love every single one of these clubby rooms - must have been an incredible showhouse! Although must agree about that heavy handed light fixture - a bit negatively anthropomorphic.
Dearest Bijou,
Your blonde bangs and great gams, medear, are very difficult to hold a candle to ;)
Cheers, Alcira
Evening Queen Q,
Loved your piece on Legomania ;)
All this banter over that fixture has officially given me arachnapobia.
Cheers, Alcira
I'm moving in....tomorrow! Especially the top room!
Oh Daniel!
How lucky that room will be to have you ;)
Cheers and happy packing, Alcira
Furnishings that break the mold = FAB.
There are some amazing pieces in each of these rooms. I must add these to my ever growing and perhaps pointless inspiration folder.
Mr. Goodwill Hunting
I just bookmarked them all... I'll take the creepy Louise Bourgeois inspired chandelier any day.
ps: headline = genius
Really, so much fabulousness it's hard to choose a favorite. I love all of the curiosities. From what I've gathered, I feel like that first room is so you.
Yo Raina,
Agreed.
Breaking the mold = terrifying/awesome/enriching ;)
Alcira
Hi there Mr. GH,
Take note, inspiration folders are never pointless -- for to live is to dream.
They can become cumbersome though, and I'm always amazed when looking over my archives, at how "over" some of it I am ;)
Ah, fickle Nero.
Cheers, Alcira
You go Erin,
It takes a real dame not to be afraid of spiders ;P
Alcira
Darling NKP,
Yes, the first room certainly speaks to my inner Oscar Wilde.
And I'm having dirty thoughts about that klismos ;)
Alcira
that spider thing is too scary. it would really freak me out. and not much freaks me out by way of horror. but that thing? hell to the NO.
everything else in every single picture though...is gorgeous.
Hey there MFAMB,
It's creeptastic alright.
I'd vote it out of my house pretty much for sure.
Alcira
Re photo 4; hope apartment owners have grace to notify even mildly arachnaphobic friends in advance -- and there are two of them!
Welcome to Nero reeci-t,
Luckily, this is only a showhome, so the spider isn't likely to stay in residence long ;)
Alcira
yum. BIG TIME yum. even that creepy aragog chandelier.
