Looks like a mighty fine day to me! Velvet must be in the ether, yes?
Indeed Erin,
So soft and squishy ;)

I'm in love with the purple velvet!
This got a star in google reader..that means it's a good one that I would like to refer to again if I would like to. I wonder who the artist is on that blk/whte piece over the bureau? Looks a little Chilida-ish.
Merry weekend!
Welcome to Nero Sara Louise,
Purple velvet wishes to you then.
Lovely blog you have -- my condolences for your beautiful china :(
Bisous, Alcira
Cheers Full House Mama,
It is lush, ain't it?
The artist of the black and white work is Josechu Llorens, btw.
Cheers and have a good weekend, Alcira
haute haute haute. Love that it's collected but luxurious (perhaps it's the velvet sofas strewn about).. yes mmmm tasty.
Yes Julie,
Methinks that maybe the many shades of purple are helping contribute to the regal air.
Cheers, Alcira
Those sofas and the rest of the upholstered soft goods are killing me. The colors!!!!!!!! I am also completely in love with the wood dresser and the entire vignette created with the painting. I think the room needed that piece to ground it and add a bit of substance and history. The art, while on its own is fabulous, paired with the warm wood and the amethyst bowl is perfection. I'm glad they stopped there.
Evening NKP,
It's quite beautiful and soothing, isn't it?
I thoroughly agree with you, without the warmth of the antique chest and the bookcases and curiosities, the space could've read a bit showroomy.
Artful editing and choice accessorizing really do make a space, I believe.
Alcira
yum yum yum.
MFAMB,
num, num, num.....
