Alcira wonderful
I love that our denim began back in the days of hardworking Americans and now have come to the Fashion runways big time in elegance and class!
Come and join my Giveaway from Blydesign!

Thank goodness for jeans...uniform for me...
A little bit more trivia on the subject.....The word 'denim' originally comes from France in the town of Nimes. A fabric called 'serge' known as 'serge de Nimes' was shortened to 'denim', meaning of Nimes....xv
Ooooh, that Valentino is fantastic!
There is nothing like a perfect pair of jeans.
Morning Karena,
They're such a classic staple -- so much history between the threads ;)
Thanks for the giveaway info, I'll pop by shortly.
Alcira
Dearest Vicki,
Hope the down time in the lodge is leaving your rosy-cheeked and warm ;)
The Serge de Nimes lineage was the story I was most familiar with when it came to jeans. Which makes me a little dubious about the suggestion that denim could be much older.
I wonder how much of it is truly textile history and how much the potent power of suggestion, and a curator in need of a new idea.
Whatever the case, jeans are certainly my over-used go-to as well ;)
Cheers, Alcira
Ah Anita,
That was truly spoken like a woman who has met her blue jean match ;)
That in itself is a life-long quest for most femmes!
Alcira
